FOUNDERS BOBBY & BETTY RANSON

Our business first began in 1974. Bobby, a native of Huntersville has long roots in the community. His paternal grandfather, W.J. Ranson was a dairy farmer & the first mayor of Huntersville. Ellen Hunter Ranson, Bobby’s grandmother, was from the Hunter family for whom the town was named. The Ranson homeplace still stands on the corner of Old Statesville Rd & Huntersville-Mt Holly Road. Bobby is a Korean War veteran & a lifelong member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church.

His wife, Betty, business partner & love of his life passed away in 2011. In addition to handling the administrative end of the business for many years, Betty was a talented caterer, avid bridge player & was also very active in their church.

In April of 2024 Bobby passed, reuniting with his love Betty. Bobby was a well known & cherished man in our local community. He lived a long life full of abundance, faith & family - continuing his legacy for generations.

Everything we are as a company is owed to the dedication and hard work Bobby put in all those years ago. Thank you for paving the way for North Mecklenburg Plumbing to be what it is today. We will strive every day to continue providing the best services within this company, serving our community to the best of our ability - as you did. In loving memory of life well-lived, may your spirit soar amidst the heavens.

Julie & Hal Hester

1994 is when Julie started with the family business. She is the company accountant & office manager, oversees weekly & quarterly payroll & year-end functions, as well as Human Resources & Insurance needs for the company. Julie is a native of Huntersville & a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh. After a 10 year absence, she moved back to Huntersville with her family in 1986 wanting to enjoy the blessings of having extended family nearby. Julies hobbies include scrapbooking, reading and travel. We are also all so lucky to have worked with her for many years & wish her a well-deserved retirement.

It was back in 1986 when Hal joined our team. He moved to Huntersville to be closer to family. Initially Hal ran the Appliance division then began working in the plumbing contracting division soon thereafter. Hal gained his State Plumbing Contractor’s license & when Bobby decided to retire in 1992, Hal became President of the company.  Hal recently retired from NMP in December of 2021. We are all so lucky to have worked with him for many years & wish him a well deserved retirement.
